We have a date!!

I know I’ve been talking about it for two years. And I’ve been the biggest tease ever. At one point, I guaranteed the book would be out in 2014. Yeah…that didn’t happen. But I think the book is better off for it. Over the past year, I’ve been able to work with writers groups and an editor to refine my book to the point I’m super mega proud of it.

So proud that I’m ready to release it into the wild to fend for itself. Aaaaand I have a release date.

For reals. My book will be released on:

October 27, 2015

DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNN!!!!!

The reason for that launch date will be announced soon. And I think it’s pretty darned exciting. I also have some exciting news coming up regarding my book launch and stuff.

So stay tuned.

Oh, and in case you’re still here, this is the front cover of my book:

The Gay Teen's Guide to Defeating a Siren

I can’t tell you how excited I am about this! My artistic friends Ben Gill and Brett Dougall worked really hard to make this cover a reality. So buy them Thai food immediately. Thanks!

Well done, Cody. You have nailed the voices of the adolescent narrator, as well as the other members of the school. The students at the academy have all the usual high school problems, finding themselves, getting good grades, fitting in with their peers. Very realistic, no different than other teenagers. You have the jocks, the popular ones, the outsiders. The secret workouts are funny and heart-warming, bringing the kids closer together. The use of Zimmerman’s Zealots and the sirens as representative of bigotry is outstanding. Also,I like Jimmy, the underdog, with a power not one of the students realize. He is one of your most memorable characters, along with Blaize, Cassie and Roze. Jimmy’s death and the passage of that power to Blaize (great name, by the way) propels the reader to your next book. How does Blaize figure out the power, manage it and use it to the benefit of his peers? Use of Eleanor as advancing her own agenda while Roosevelt recovered from polio is spot on. There have been questions for years as to how she became so well known and respected.

A well-written book. Funny, heartbreaking in places and a bang-up mystery. Can’t wait for book two!!

Wow!!! Thanks so much, Donna! You just made my day, LOL. Is there any way you’d be OK with posting this as a review on Amazon? 😀 I know I’m submitting to groveling, but it’s all I have 😀
